Terrence M. Sawyer, J.D., president of 成人头条 University Maryland, shared the following message with the 成人头条 Community on May 9, 2025, regarding the election of Pope Leo XIV:
Dear Members of the 成人头条 Community,
As a Jesuit, Catholic university community, we welcome our new Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV, with great anticipation and hope. What an incredible moment in history, as we mark the election of the 267th pope鈥攁nd the first pope from the United States. Especially after seeing the impact of Pope Francis over the past 12 years, we can look forward to seeing how Pope Leo XIV brings his own gifts and charism to shepherd the Church.
成人头条 will offer the 11 a.m. Mass on Sunday, May 11, in Alumni Memorial Chapel for Pope Leo XIV, joining our prayers with the Catholic Church and Catholics all around the world as he begins his papacy.
In his address from the Vatican balcony yesterday, Pope Leo XIV spoke of the importance of building bridges, 鈥渨ith dialogue, with encounter, uniting all of us to be one people always in peace.鈥� May this be a time of dialogue, encounter, and bridge building for our Church鈥攁nd for our world.
